I have been looking at this over the weekend and am very impressed. I will use this for my artwork from now on. It is also quite cheap: ArtRage Studio is $19.90 + VAT and ArtRage Studio Pro is $49.90 + VAT (a little over £30)

Use a three button mouse with laptops. (The centre button is a wheel) It makes everything much easier to do.
Blender works best with a number keypad.
For artwork get a tablet, (Wacom Bamboo is pretty good) A5 or A4 work well. A3 is too big. It should be one that has pen pressure facility.

Wednesday CGI Sessions

The remaining Wednesday CGI sessions this term will be in the Level 2 studio with you using your own laptops.
The sessions will be built around questions that you email me.
The software packages we will focus on are VectorWorks, SketchUp and Blender 2.5 or later.
Vectorworks can be got from http://student.myvectorworks.net/
You will have to register and you will need my email address which is c.dyer@wimbledon.arts.ac.uk (You will need this to send me questions anyway).
Blender 2.6a can be got from http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/blender-260/
SketchUp can be got from http://sketchup.google.com/
Photoshop, video editing and aftereffects are all handled quite well by the Digital Media Centre.
